The story behind the story
I didn’t write this because I had everything figured out.
For years Pastor Mark Miller, Sr. stood in front of people and told them God could deliver them. He meant it. He believed it. And then he went home to a war he would not name out loud.
Addiction does not ask whether you preach on Sunday. It only asks whether you will keep hiding. Mark did. The fall was not one night. It was a slow surrender — one choice, one compromise, one more time — until the public life and the private life could no longer share the same man.
This book is not a highlight reel. It is the record of what it cost his family, his calling, and his own soul, and of how grace found him when he had run out of speeches. He did not write it from a finished pedestal. He wrote it from the floor, so that anyone who has ever sat in church and wondered whether God still wanted them would have a witness.
God never stopped reaching for me.
Broken. Lost. Called. Restored. That is not a slogan. It is the order of a life God refused to throw away. If you are carrying a private struggle — in the pulpit, in the pew, or in the house of someone you love — this testimony was written for you.
You are not too far gone.
Your story is still being written.
